Sustainable Idaho

The Portneuf Resource Council (PRC) is partnering with the ISU Career Path Internship program again to find a number of paid student interns to fulfill some interesting positions.  Once hired, students could begin the work immediately.

Every summer PRC is looking to hire ISU juniors, seniors and grad students for the following internship. They are paid positions.

  • Hosts for the Sustainable Idaho radio podcast.   PRC is looking for two new hosts to be trained by our current hosts in preparation for taking over either in the summer or at the beginning of the next school year.

Tabling and Presentations

Frequently, PRC members give presentations to local groups including various church organizations, the Civitans and Rotary Clubs.  We have PowerPoints all ready to go concerning Electric Vehicles and the Inflation Reduction Act.  Let us know if this is of interest to you and we will help you get started.

Much of what we do is talking to people one on one at a variety of tabling events.  These can include the summer Farmers' Market, the EV Expo in the fall, the Environmental Fair, or other events like movie screenings.  At all these events we appreciate help with set up and take down.

Arborist Adventures

Join PRC members and other volunteers involved in the planting and maintenance of shrubs, trees and flowers at Edson Fichter Park.

Influence Decision Makers

Become more informed. Speak out about your concerns. Join our email network to stay in the loop when our city, county or state is asking for input on issues of importance.

Even better, we would love for you to come to a meeting or two to see if you would like to become more involved with PRC.  Since the pandemic started and because some of our board members are out of town, we meet on the third Wednesday of every month by ZOOM.   Let us know of your interest by clicking on the link Contact PRC and we will send you the link.  We look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas.
